Nokia N97 Review
The Nokia N97 is a well designed device sporting both a full QWERTY keyboard and a complete resistive touch screen. Running the symbian OS, the N97 is a fully featured device sporting 3G, WiFi, A-GPS, a 5MP camera, 32GB of storage, bluetooth, and an FM transmitter. Overall, I enjoy using this device but the OS is starting to appear dated and the weak internal components (434MHz processor and 128MB of ram) don’t drive the punch I was expecting with a Nokia flaghsip. honestly, this phone rocks. But a high end phone? The unlock switch barely works! I could get something better off the backstreets of china for christs sake. I really wanted this phone too!

Try opening the foto and pressing the green (call)button.
If that doesn’t work I quess you should highlight it in the menu and press options and then send.
At least, that’s how it works on my N73.

i have got n97 and i can honestly tell you that it is a great phone. both n97 and iphone have
good and bad, but what makes n97 better than iphone is that its truly multifunctional, better camera, bluetooth, shape, micro usb and many more but not many apps at the moment. iphone has lots of good apps but i can tell you symbian is catching
up

i think nokia will do the same with n97 what they did with the 6230, n93, n95…
launch new upgrades of the model with masive improvesments, like 6230i, n93i and n95 8GB. the difrences between these devices are quite big, with a boost in camera, screen, and RAM . compare yourself these models and see.
so will we see an improved n97?

nicely said Amanda 1989- I personally think I will enjoy the N97 but that’s me…I think the iPhone and it’s collection of offsprings are good for media and has a great user-friendly UI but for me I enjoy the fact I can swap out SIM cards with ease…this makes traveling overseas fairly easy. Also I see the N97 becoming a great phone but after a couple more updates. I purchased the “tank” iPhone when it first came out and it works fine. But it too had bugs and the sort. People tend to forget

The unlocking issue is still present in the latest update and you cannot use #0000# to upgrade the software OTA.

Two things: even with the update the unlock switch still has issues. Also, like I said in the video, I wasn’t able to update because OTA didn’t work.

no thanks i like my iphone 3gs, but i am jealous of the flash
September 27th, 2009 at 5:13 am
You should get the newest firmware to get rid of those bugs. For example the unlock key would work after that.

Michael the Touch Pro2 does also have a resistive touch screen like the n97…… not capaciitve…
I think you should add a note in your video so you don’t mislead people… anyway…
good job.
