Congressman Paul Kanjorski’s Scandal

In a startling interview, Joe Yudichak, who ran the non-profit Regional Equipment Center in Kanjorski’s district, says the congressman initially tried to bully him into helping Kanjorski direct the money to Kanjorski’s family members. In the documentary, Yudichak recounts his conversation with Kanjorski: “He said, ‘You’re telling me I can’t take care of my family?’ He said, ‘Well, I’m telling you, it’s gonna be done. And it’s gonna be done with you or without you.’ And he said, ‘I’ll bury you. I’ll destroy you.’”
Kanjorski later earmarked more than $10 million directly to the company run by his family. The money was supposed to fund the development of new technologies to help turn around desperate coal towns and make them prosperous.
The company, Cornerstone Technologies, went bankrupt.
Harold Shobert, head of Pennsylvania State University’s Energy Institute, and a leading expert on anthracite coal, worked with Cornerstone on one project. Shobert said “It was clear that these guys were clueless as to how to do research and development,” “It was sort of like trying to collaborate with the cast of Looney Tunes.”

I feel like a Jew (which I’m not) living in Nazi Germany!! Corruption, forces of evil all around… Because I don’t live in PA, I thought I’d looked up this man out of curiosity when I read IBD’s editorial today on the Mortgage Crisis and a timeline on how it happened. After reading his comments in June of 2000, I thought-how stupid is HE!! Obviously, people don’t know who they vote for. I saw the whole show. Kanjorski’s excuse that it was a plot by the Republicans is so funny. The others they outed were Republicans including Dennis Hastert.

I live in CA but I’m supporting Lou Barletta to get this guy out of D.C. This man is soooooo corrupt. I know corruption. Like I say, I live in CA and that legislature just passed AB 2076 going on to the senate now. It will PROHIBIT the cities and states using the E-verify system to protect our SSN’s. It’s all for the illegals and the unethical business owners like Kanjorski to use them for their greedy profit.

Unfortunately it’s the rule not the exception. People need to start looking into the people they vote for – including this run of presidential candidates who are also crooks. It starts at the top.

We constantly hear BS about getting tough on criminals, but never when those criminals are in the government. Government officials that get caught misappropriating funds or lying to the public should get extremely stiff penalties and jail time.

Exactly! Paul Kanjorski is one of the most corrupt members of Congress. He and his buddy, John Murtha, have wasted millions of our dollars.
As a lifelong Pennsylvanian, I’ve seen firsthand this damage and the forgone opportunities. Kanjorski and Murtha have simply been in Washington too long. Let’s send them to retirement!

people… this stuff goes on EVERY DAY with our beloved politicians. and in part it’s our fault. didn’t anyone ever notice all the politicians that are making 175K a year that live in multimillion dollar homes? we never gave a thought to letting the politicians decide and vote what their pensions and health insurance they get? it’s just rampant. we need to prosecute these pukes to the full extent of the law. oh wait… they make the law don’t they.
