ImToo 3gp converter? How do convert files small enough to use on my cell phone without losing to much quality?

3gp converter
curiosity asked:

I trying to convert mpeg and avi files to 3gp and it either converts really small or too big. When it is too small looses a lot of resolution and it pixels a lot. for instance if i have a 15 mb file, how do I make it to 3gp keeping the same quality and staying either the same or smaller size without going to small?

I’m not familiar with ImToo converters to be honest, but if it allows you to set different output parameters, I recommend you drop the frame rate (fps = frames per second) to something like 15, and keep the resolutions at 320×240 in order to make the file size small.

Basically the file size is made up of the resolution of the video AND how many frames/pictures are presented every second. Reducing either one of them or both will reduce the file size. With a low frame rate, you may notice some degree of choppiness, but so long as it’s 15 or above (or maybe even 10 if things don’t move fast in your movie), you are not likely to notice the choppiness, whereas resolutions will noticeably change when you go from 320×240 to let’s say 176×144.

Lastly, do not compare the avi files with 3gp files you make on your computer because the qualities of files that most cell phones can handle are lower than those of files that computers can handle. Simply put, computers have more data processor power than cell phones. So, you cannot expect too much no matter how you convert.

    Hope this helps.
