mobilitytoday asked:

The first Research in Motion touchscreen device becomes on of the biggest competitors to the iPhone today. In this review you WONT see us compare the iPhone but you WILL learn more about the Storm than you asked for! We highly recommend this phone~

im not completely sure about this phone bt with most phones it is about the same but it is kind of condensed. If this phone has flash player than it can play videos on the internet. if it does than it will probably be pretty close to pc

the button on the top right DOES NOT change profiles as far as sounds go. It is strictly used as a mute button while playing media files or streaming videos…

First and foremost, thanks for your review – by far the best review out there. Have been holding off for a bit now, but feel like now is the time to get one.

I have one question regarding the Internet Browser. Assuming I get a plan that allows me to browse the net, are there only certain sites that one can go to for the mobile internet, or is it pretty much like having a pc in a phone, i.e. you can browse any site?

    Tx in advance.

Technically, it does have two cards. It has Verizon in the US, and has whatever network overseas. That’s two, count it, twoooo different services. =P

How do you think the Storm will fair in sprint’s release of their “4G” (aka PC wimax) networking system?
Do you think that users will want to not only connect to a cell network, but become networked in their local areas as well?

What is your opinion on the consumer’s response to this new tech?

Also, do you feel that its lack of a “dual band” (2 cards) capability will impact sales of the Storm?
How will this phone compare to dual-banders overseas?
Thanks for the review, looking forward to more

Good review, probably one of the most informative I’ve seen, and I’m glad it was compared to more than just the iPhone. Not everyone has need for heaps of time-wasting applications. It seems like the phone for teenagers, but if you’re looking for functionality in the workplace–seems Blackberry takes the cup.

Whether you want the storm or the iPhone is a matter of personal choice. If the most important thing to you is email and being able to have basic phone features, then get the Storm. If you care more about multimedia and you have a lot of media DRMed to iTunes or you care more about web browsing, then get the iPhone. However, if you want to get the storm, i would test out its keyboard first because the majority of people testing it say that the storm’s keyboard is difficult to use.
