On February 22, 2007, at the HSBC Arena facing the Buffalo Sabres which was also Bryan Murray’s 1200th game, a brawl broke out after Senators’ forward Chris Neil hit the side of the Sabres’ captain, Chris Drury, during a 3-2 Sabres lead in which he also hit the captains’ face, leaving blood on the ice. Neil did not receive a penalty for the hit, but soon after, Drury went to the dressing room under his own power with assistance while Sabres rookie Drew Stafford atttempted to take on Neil for the alleged “Cheap Shot.” Immediately following the faceoff, a huge fight broke out which including all 12 players on the ice, including the goalies as Senator goalie Ray Emery got into a fight with Sabre’s goalie Martin Biron and then skater Andrew Peters. Soon, even the coaches starting arguing and yelling at each other about the Neil hit.
