Ted Haggard, the president of the National Assn. of Evangelicals resigned Thursday after allegations that he had repeatedly paid for sex and bought crystal meth from a male prostitute.
Haggard is a FIRM supporter of President George W. Bush, and is often credited with rallying evangelicals behind Bush during the 2004 election.
