John Mattes, an investigative reporter for Fox 6 in San Diego, was attacked and beaten by a couple that were the subjects of his reporting. Matte had been investigating the couple for a scam to steal identities.
The attack left Mattes with several cracked ribs along with cuts and bites on his face.
