During last night’s opening segment of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart noted that there was something “peculiar” about President Bush’s August 21 White House press conference. The president is known for his long vacations at his home in Crawford, Texas during during the month of August. Stewart asks, What could be so important as to lure our president from the spa like oasis that is Crawford, Texas.”
The Daily Show takes the occasion to shread the Mr. Bush’s press conference into a string of silly clips and commentary. And having one of his favorite subjects as fodder, Jon Stewart enjoys delivering an hilarious performance. From Bush’s foreign policy to the emotions reflected in speech to his tendency to restate obvious, the show doesn’t seem to miss an opportunity to lampoon the president.
