Thinking to present a gift? Nokia will.

Telecommunications service giant Chunghwa Telecom will roll out in late April a unique mobile phone jointly developed with Nokia featuring Ahkwei — one of the most popular animated characters in Taiwan and all overseas Chinese communities.

Chunghwa Telecom will also offer special discounts for customers in celebration of the upcoming Mother’s Day.

The Nokia 6280 handset will enable consumers to enjoy the unique combination of the most advanced telecom technological functions, the humorous image of Ahkwei, related ring tones, and the animated film.

There will be various rates for four different models — 383, 583, 983, and 1683 with special rates ranging from NT$11,390 to NT$7,890 — to meet the needs of all customers.

Executives of Chunghwa Telecom expect Nokia 6280 to immediately capture the hearts of numerous Ahkwei fans after hitting the market.
