This is Google rival. Google has already cover San Francisco in collaboration with Earthlink.

Yahoo! is picking up.

Yahoo’s potential new messenger service, “Yahoo! Messenger On-the-Road,” could give customers free access to IM from select WiFi locations, such as airports, hotels and cafes.

The survey included a brief description of the prospective service, which would make use of 30,000 Yahoo! Messenger-friendly WiFi hotspots around the world. Customers would be able to access Yahoo! Messenger, send and receive instant messages, and use VoIP, which is already included in Yahoo!’s standard IM service.
