Alcatel has agreed to join hands with Special Communications Organization (SCO) to augment its efforts in provision of communication in the earthquake hit areas.

Apart from restoring its telecom network within 48 hours of the disaster SCO has also facilitated the general public, Rescue & Medical Teams and Army troops working for relief operations in the area in a big way. It is important mention that SCO has established 78 free PCOs, 15 INMARSAT connections, 50 Thuraya Satellite Phone Service, Free SCO CDMA (WLL Phone Service) connections, Relief Package for Earthquake victims and Free SCOM (SCO’s Mobile Service) for civil management and international agencies.
