I find this article very selective and misleading. My view is that the superior purchasing power in the UK is balanced out by unmentioned extra's. Maybe you should have included that it costs 8 quid (add another 4.90pounds if you want popcorn+drink) to watch a movie or 6 quid to develop film. Why not tell these people how much an average train ticket costs or how much insurance/mot/road tax/drivers licence/repair they have to pay on top of the price of an 18 year old car? 20 pounds for groceries might be alright if you get your meals in the hospital canteen but you would have a very poor diet if you relied on that alone (esp cheap ass tesco value range).

Look at how much debt people have in the uk. You paint such a rosy picture about education being comparatively cheaper to pay for in relation to wages. Why then are so many graduates saddled with crazy debt? Is it because their parents are too busy worrying about paying off their own debts? Could they be using their credit cards to pay for their utilities which, if you don't live in a cardboard box like your bills suggest you do, is very expensive.

Everything you said about Malaysia's purchasing power is correct. But most Malaysian's live within their means. They don't switch on three bloody air cons like you do. They go to the library instead of buying 100 ringgit books (the most expensive one I've bought is RM80 and it was not just a decent book but a law tome). They watch Premier league games outside instead of paying for astro and inevitably obsolete tv's.

Unemployed for one year! Clown doctors? You said it Mister.

Dear Zain,

I agree with you on the cost of living as currently I am working in Europe.

However it is sad to read that you consider GH and UH doctors in Malaysia are clowns. Is that from your personal experience?

I wonder if people like KL Goh (UMMC), CH Yip (UMMC), Amin (UMMC), Anuar Zaini (UMMC), Ryan Ponnudurai (Selayang GH), Lokman Saim (HUKM), AY Jasmi (HUKM), Nafisah Adeeb (HUKM), Hisham Abdullah (Putrajaya GH), Zainal Ariffin (KLGH), Dato' Kew (KLGH)...(just to name a few) should be considered clowns as well?

If that is so, then we have 'clowns' as invited speakers at international scientific meetings, 'clowns' publishing scientific papers in international journals like Lancet, BMJ, BJS, AJS, ANZJS ..etc and 'clowns' being elected as presidents and other significant posts in international medical/surgical societies.

(The names stated above can be googled for verification and some of them are local graduates as well)

I believe clown doctors (in other profession as well) can be anywhere irrespective where they graduate from. It is gross injustice to generalize everyone in GH and UH as one.

You owe them an apology.

Thank you.
